Description
It was the perfect companion for trousers, but it could hold its own.
The crop jacket, with its tailored cut and contemporary soul, was anything but a transient piece: it was an exclamation point. A clear, precise statement, pronounced with style. Very short, yes – but full of character.
Its cut was sharp, decisive, designed to highlight the waistline and open up broadly at the shoulders, like certain confident gestures learned over time. The double-breasted front set its rhythm: a play of symmetry and structure, making every closure a precise gesture. Holding it together were shiny gold buttons, chiselled with the initials FC — Flavio Castellani — like small seals illuminating the surface with understated intensity. The same buttons reappeared on the sleeves, as if to complete the design with perfect coherence, like a signature at the bottom.
The wide lapel collar opened up on the bust with architectural elegance.
Neither too stiff nor excessively soft: simply balanced. It framed the face, leaving room for a shirt, bare skin, or a subtle collar – depending on how the wearer wished to express themselves.
The pattern?
A small, regular, refined, timeless check. A gentle geometry that gave depth to the fabric, transforming a strongly constructed garment into something surprisingly light. The pattern didn't overpower, but accompanied: it was there to add rhythm, to whisper identity.
Worn with its matching trousers, it formed an outfit capable of handling a meeting, an evening, an unexpected occasion. But pairing it with a skirt or denim completely changed its tone.
Because this jacket was a chameleon, but never neutral.
It was designed to adapt, but not to go unnoticed.
A garment that combines sartorial classicism and urban modernity.
Cut short, but thought big.
Like all lasting things.
